Usage Types can be assigned to an item at creation time - based either on the Default Settings, or by using the drag-and-drop creation method.
After creation Usage Types can also be applied in two ways:
- The item Settings can be updated
- Usage Types can be dragged and dropped onto either the 2d or 3d view. When dragging in the 2d view the Usage is assigned to the current Level. The same applies in the 3d however, the 3d view allows you to easily pick exactly which Level to apply to.
Buildings have an assigned Usage for the entire Building. This Usage Type can be overridden on a Level-by-Level basis. If subsequently the Building Usage is changed, this will be applied to all Levels that have not previously been overridden.
This allows you to control the primary Usage Type quickly and easily by assigning it to the Building rather than having to assign all Usages Level-by-Level.
