Units allow you to change which units you use for input and display. We support both Metric and Imperial Systems.
Along with your preferred units you can set the level of precision you want to use.
If you open the Settings view you can see the Units that are in use for the current project:
The Units in the Project settings are used everywhere a length or area is displayed.
Input Units
By default the Units control the Input of lengths as well; You don't need to input unit types if you are just using your standard units. Eg if working in metres 3.81 is the same as entering 3.81m.
However, you can actually enter any unit type into an input and it will be converted to the Project Units.
For example, in the following image the Storey Height is entered as 12' 6" (12 foot 6 inches)
On confirmation this is converted to 3.81m as the Length Unit is set to metres to 2 decimal places:
While you won't necessarily need to use this imperial to metric conversion (or vice versa) it provides a versatile system for data entry. For example, you might have your Units set to millimetres, and find that it is easier to enter 5m rather than 5000.
